PROJECT OVERVIEW
This comprehensive MD 500D refurbishment project for Anderson Helicopters featured a complete ground-up rebuild tailored for demanding utility operations. The aircraft was stripped to bare metal and received a full custom repaint and new interior designed for durability and extended operational use.
A standout feature of this project was the comprehensive Garmin avionics upgrade, creating a clean, intuitive cockpit with excellent situational awareness. The installation included a GI 275 flight instrument, GMA 345 audio panel, dual GTR 225 radios, GTX 335 transponder, Garmin Aera 660, and TracMap guidance system.
To support specialised utility operations, the aircraft was fitted with 4-port bleed air control outlets, a remote hook system, and bucket control system, transforming this MD 500D into a highly capable, mission-ready utility machine.
